The Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology is pleased to announce that it will hold this year’s Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 20th at 1pm. The ceremony will take place at:

Fr. George Griener, S.J., Th.D.

Fr. George Griener, S.J., Th.D.

Fr. Griener has been a professor of historical and systematic study at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University since 1989.

Professor Griener has served as Academic Dean for the Jesuit School and as a long-standing member of the Core Doctoral Faculty of the Graduate Theological Union.

Since 2002, Professor Griener has also been a guest lecturer for  Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, Guangdong and other universities in China.

We look forward to Professor Griener’s address to our students, their families, and our faculty, staff, and administration, Dominican friars of the Western Dominican Province, College of Fellows, board members, benefactors, and guests.

Br. Patrick Rooney, OP

Br. Patrick Rooney, OP

Br. Patrick Rooney is a friar of the Western Dominican Province, and graduating with a Master of Divinity. He will be ordained a priest this summer, when he will likely be assigned to serve in one of the Province’s parishes.

Br. Patrick received a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts from Thomas Aquinas College in 2015. A fun fact about him is that he can ride a unicycle in his habit while juggling! 

We are glad to welcome this long-time member of DSPT’s community to serve as student speaker as he enters into a new phase of his ministry!

Christopher Das

Christopher Das

Christopher’s undergraduate degree was a double major in Philosophy and Theology at Ave Maria University. He then did a one-year M.A in Theology at Ave Maria University. He has been accepted to the PhD Theology program at Ave Maria University, and that's his next step after graduation. He is getting married on May 27th.
