Cal Rec Club

As a student, faculty, or staff member of the GTU you are welcome to join the Cal Rec Club (CRC), the Recreational Sports Facility's (RSF) membership program. The CRC Membership Office is located at 2301 Bancroft Way, Berkeley Campus. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information visit the Calbears site  or call 510-642-7796.

Enrollment & Fees (2011-2012)

Students: $140/semester, $140/summer*
Faculty & Staff: $54/month, $648/year ($50 initiation fee)

CRC memberships are sold at the RSF Cashier's office, 2301 Bancroft. Call the CRC Membership office (see number above) for cashier hours. Memberships are sold by semester, prorating is not available. To join, students must present a photo ID and a GTU ID card with a current sticker. GTU faculty and staff must provide a photo ID and proof of associate affiliation for each semester of membership. Box, half and full size permanent lockers are available for an additional fee. Check with the RSF Cashier’s office for the fee for each size.

* The summer Rec Club period runs from the end of the spring semester to the beginning of the fall semester.

GTU Health Insurance Plan for Students: (HIPS)

The Graduate Theological Union (GTU) and participating member schools and institutions sponsor a medical insurance plan designed to provide students with complete medical coverage at a very reasonable cost. The plan is with Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest health organizations in California, with over 8,000 physicians at more than 150 locations in northern and southern California to serve you. The HIPS plan has no deductibles, a $20 co-payment for office visits, and includes preventative care as well as many other covered services.
