DSPT Fellow Gil Bailie  and DSPT Fellow Ron Austin discussed today's spiritual predicament from the perspective of René Girard's theory of mimetic desire. Students and friends of DSPT were invited to join them for a lively give-and-take about one of the most crucial dimensions of the larger cultural confusions of our time.

Gil Bailie is the president and founder of the Cornerstone Forum, a writer and lecturer who has lectured on several occasions at DSPT.

Ron Austin

is an author and former Hollywood writer and producer. His most recent book is: Peregrino: A Pilgrim Journey into Catholic Mexico. Mr. Austin has extensive experience in film and television. Having worked with many of the Hollywood insiders over the years, he has a special appreciation for the toxicity of today's fame culture.
