Summer Session 2008 Registration
New DSPT Student
There are several ways students new to DSPT can take summer courses. Click
on the option below to be taken to the registration instructions for that option
(lower on this page).
- Audit
- Continuing Education Unit credits
- graduate credit toward a Certificate of Theological Studies
- graduate credit toward Graduate degree (as a Special Student)
a.
Audit a summer course for personal enrichment. No academic transcript
is issued and no credit is earned for an audited course.

- Complete the Summer Session Registration Form for Continuing Education and Audit Opportunities (pdf).
- Submit the completed form and full payment to the DSPT Registrar’s Office at 2301
Vine Street, Berkeley, CA, 94708. After
review by the Academic Dean and course instructor, you will be notified regarding
your enrollment status. Full payment is due
at the time of registration.
You will receive a full refund if your admission is not approved or if
your course is cancelled by the DSPT administration. Once accepted, there is no refund for summer registration changes made after May 15.
b. Earn Continuing Education Units (CEU)
and receive a certificate of completion.

Registration Form for Continuing Education and Audit Opportunities (pdf).
- Submit the completed form and full payment to the DSPT Registrar’s
Office at 2301 Vine Street, Berkeley, CA, 94708 by May 15. After
review by the Academic Dean and course instructor, you will be notified regarding
your enrollment status. Full payment is due at the time of registration.
You will receive a full refund if your admission is not approved or if
your course is cancelled by the DSPT administration. Once accepted, there is no refund for summer registration changes made after May 15.
c. Take summer courses for graduate credit toward a Certificate
of Theological Studies
- Complete a Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology Application
for Admissions (pdf). On the application, indicate your interest
in “Other
Programs / Certificate of Theological
Studies ( a 12-unit program especially designed for those who
seek personal enrichment through the study of theology. Courses may be
focused in any of the MA (Theology) areas of specialization. The application
essay and one letter of recommendation are required from students applying
for the Certificate of Theological Studies program.
- Complete the Summer
Session Registration Form for Academic Credit (pdf).
- Submit the application, registration form, and full payment ($495/ credit)
to the DSPT Admissions Office at 2301 Vine Street, Berkeley, CA, 94708 by May
15. After review by the Academic Dean and course instructor(s),
you will be notified regarding your enrollment status. Full payment is due
at the time of registration.
You will receive a full refund if your admission is not approved or if
your course cancelled by the DSPT administration. You will receive
a refund of tuition (less a $50 processing fee) for a summer course you drop
by May 15, 2008. Once accepted, there is no refund for summer registration
changes made after May 15, 2008.
d. Take summer
courses for graduate credit as a Special Student.
- Complete a Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology Application
for Admissions (pdf). On the application, indicate your interest
in “Other Programs/ Special Student.” The application
essay and one letter of recommendation are required from students applying
as Special Students.
- Complete the Summer

- For MA-level students, submit the application, registration form, and full
